I have two things in life that I love, my passions. Fashion and animals or animals and fashion, either way life without either would be boring and sad to say the least. I chose a career in fashion. I just couldn’t see myself treating sick animals or God forbid having to put an animal to sleep. Fashions only pain comes from buying too many of a bad item or wearing something awful that you thought looked really great. Other than that, fashion was fun, stressful and came with some great perks.
I gave up fashion after the crash of 2008, professionally not personally…that will never happen.
How does farming happen accidentally you ask? In the back of mind always imagined myself having a farm but as I got older I never thought it would actually happen. But then about 2 years ago I read about animal abuse case that was horrific and I was deeply affected by it. I followed the story and got in touch with the sanctuary who helped with the rescue. My husband (also a animal lover) and I decided to adopt two rabbits. The rabbits were not from the abuse case but we were in no position to adopt goats, sheep or cows.
Shortly after adopting the rabbits we began to volunteer on Saturdays, I love every minute of it, even though it means shoveling lots of poop. I am outside, helping a great organization and get to hang out with amazing barnyard animals. And then it happened. Two baby goat boys changed my life forever, our lives forever. So follow along with my stories of fashion and farming to see how we now have 4 goats, 3 rabbits, 2 ducks, 2 mini-horses, 2 cats, 1 mini-donkey and a dog named Maggie.
